Refugee and Migrant Forum Manchester

The Refugee & Migrant Forum Manchester aims to enable refugees and asylum seekers to express the needs and aspirations of their communities and to play a part in influencing policy in the city of Manchester and across the UK. Manchester Refugee Support Network provides the Forum with an organisational base. The Terms of Reference contains details of aims and objectives, structure and membership.

There are a number of different ways in which you can support the Forum's work and get involved whether you are a refugee, migrant or someone interested in migrant rights. Refugee and Migrant Forum Manchester Steering Group

The Steering Group reviews progress and discusses the future development and activities of the RMFM and agrees RMFM priorities in consultation with refugee and asylum seeking communities in Greater Manchester and the MRSN Management Committee.

Working Groups

The Refugee and Migrant Forum hosts working groups linked to the themes of the Refugee Charter for Manchester and meet at least once a month. Working groups give refugees and asylum seekers the skills and opportunity to influence service provision and decision making by promoting the principles of the Refugee Charter for Manchester.

In collaboration with MRSN the Social Care Institute for Excellence (SCIE)  has produce a video called Refugees and Asylum Seekers highlighting the troubles that this group often face as well as highlighting  to their audience the types of help that they could provide.  Azeldin, a former asylum seeker and the Secretary of MRSN Management Committee, explains how he is using his own experience to help others. to watch this video please click here
