Advice Services
OUR SERVICES:
Manchester Refugee Support Network's Advice Service has operated an independent community advice centre giving advice and information to refugees and asylum seekers and their families from across Greater Manchester for over six years.
We provide free, impartial and confidential advice, information and guidance on :
* Welfare Benefits (including benefit checks)
* Tax Credits (including Child Benefit)
* Debt and income maximisation
* Housing (including homelessness)
* Access to health services
* Asylum support
* Referral and signposting to other service providers.
The Advice Service offers:
Drop-in advice sessions at Phoenix Mill:
Mondays 10.00 - 13.00
Wednesdays 14.00 - 17.00
Drop-in Advice sessions can get busy so sometimes we have to limit the number of people we can see.
Appointments can be arranged at other times and on other days.
Advice or interpreting are usually available in Arabic, Kurdish, Tigrinia, and Farsi.
For more information please contact the advice team on 0161 202 8914
VOLUNTEERING:
We greatly value the contribution of our dedicated team of volunteers who speak a range of community languages. This enables us to help a larger number of people. We can provide training for volunteers who want to learn advice work, but we need to be sure that volunteers can remain with us for at least six months for this to be worth while. If you are interested in volunteering with the advice service (to help with interpreting, reception, or advice), please go to the volunteering section of the website.
